Sri Lanka is currently battling a resurgence in COVID-19 cases and schools have once more been closed indefinitely. Many of our rural communities that survive on daily wages have been badly affected. There will be fewer rural children who can afford to buy all the necessary supplies to attend school next year. We hope to change this by providing them with the most essential necessities.
The Essential School Supplies Programme 2021 has been extraordinary and our FoG family rallied together to fulfill the request for 3300 school packs from across the island.
Though some of our donors were unable to meet their pledges due to economic hardship, we were delighted to see an increased number of donations in small quantities from people new to the FoG family, from around the world, who have understood that just one pack can change a life!
As of today, we are 249 packs short of meeting all our requests. All we ask for is one pack!
