Sri Lanka is a country that values Peace, especially after enduring the ravages of a civil war for nearly 3 decades. Since the end of the war in 2009, the Foundation of Goodness has been an ambassador for peace and reconciliation, conducted through various initiatives such as North-South exchange programmes and the Murali Harmony Cup.
Our beneficiaries across all the Village Heartbeat Empowerment Centres marked the International Day of Peace 2021 under the theme “Recovering better for an equitable and sustainable world” with speeches, drawings and songs, showcasing all they had learnt about the importance of peace and what it means to them.
Our Village Heartbeat Empowerment Centres continue to follow a value based curriculum that promotes harmony and reconciliation through the good values imparted in our lessons and activities where they learn that fostering and safeguarding a peaceful and unified country needs the understanding and participation of everyone. Additionally the Good Values and Peace Ambassadors across these Centres ensure that Peace and Harmony is celebrated everyday.
