Dancing, Diving, Life Values, Travel and More! – FoG Sustainable Income Generation Initiatives

The Foundation of Goodness has been working hard towards developing sustainable income generation avenues that will help ensure the longevity of our numerous projects and programmes designed to bridge the gap between urban and rural communities in Sri Lanka.

Combining this with our attempt to develop conscientious communities and more self-aware & happy individuals, FoG has launched an application for mobile phones with guidance and advice for a good life. Titled ‘Mind Shaper: Lessons the classroom didn’t teach’, this app contains quotes about life, success, happiness, inner beauty and leadership from FoG Founder/ Chief Trustee Kushil Gunasekera aimed at helping you achieve a happier life with less worries.

Available for both Apple (App Store) and Android (Play Store) devices, you can download this life-guide secure in the knowledge that your own personal growth will at the same time help countless rural villagers to succeed in life through your contribution.

The Goodness Rhythm Dance Troupe is an income generation effort born out of the FoG Traditional Dance Classes, which seeks to showcase the students’ talent to the world while also bringing in funds to support FoG programmes. The Dance Troupe performs at 7 pm every Saturday at Hotel Coral Rock by Bansei - Hikkaduwa, in a display of tradition and culture which can be enjoyed by tourists and locals alike.

The Dive Seenigama, Dive Lanka Water Sports Centre (http://diveseenigamadivelanka.com/) has also started operations for the 2016/ 2017 season, with special offers on their ‘Discover Scuba’ package which opens up a whole new world of underwater delights for amateur divers, as well as more intense dive options for experienced visitors exploring the numerous wrecks and coral points off of the Seenigama coast. The Water Sports Centre also gives you the chance to test out a variety of fun activities such as snorkeling, kayaking and banana boat rides with your friends. The beautiful and serene beaches of Seenigama are a great place to have fun and relax while also helping the local community.

If you are travelling, but diving is a little bit too adventurous for you, we also offer specialty cooking classes by way of our ‘Plates of Goodness’ programme, where the participants can learn how to cook a delicious Sri Lankan meal from scratch. Alternatively, you can dress up in a traditional Sri Lankan Saree or Sarong at our Salon, or even enjoy a head or foot massage.

So be sure to support the Foundation of Goodness in any way that you can, and in addition to all the initiatives mentioned above you can also enjoy a taste of Sri Lanka by purchasing special spice seasoning blends at Gourmet Goodness (http://gourmetgoodness.lk/) or check out our BPO: http://www.seenigamabpo.com/
