Graduations- July 2017

It is a great achievement for the Foundation of Goodness to see another group of graduates complete our programmes and set out to make their mark in the world. Students from 2017’s first intake have now completed their programmes and 480 happy graduates received their certificates at the graduation ceremonies that took place on the 15th of July 2017.

The IT, Business Skills & Language Training Centre graduation ceremony took place in the first half of the day, with the attendance of Chief Guest Mr. Rob Setchell from Richard Huish School- UK. 175 students from the IT classes and 78 students from the Business Skills Centre and Language Training Centre proudly received their certificates.

As per usual, the Women’s Enterprise & Empowerment Centre graduations were accompanied by an eye catching fashion show where dress-making students showcased bridal fashions from different Sri Lankan communities including upcountry and lowcountry bridal wear, Muslim style bridal wear, Hindu bridal wear and Western bridal wear and the best outfits were selected by a judging panel that consisted of beautician Ms. Shamila Munasinghe, beautician and coordinator of Sri Lankan Human Rights Association Mr. Ranjith Karunasena and photographer Mr. Mahesh Madu. The Cookery, Bakery, Dress Making, Screen Printing and Curtain Making class students had also set up stalls to showcase their skills.

After the fashion show 227 ladies received certificates in the presence of Chief Guest Mr. Will Alderton from Harrow School, UK.
We wish all of our new graduates the very best of luck in all their future endeavours and hope that the knowledge and skills gathered at the Foundation of Goodness will help them make their way to a successful future.
