The economic crisis and soaring prices has deeply affected the poor that live in and around Colombo, who often rely on a daily wage to get by. These communities are often overlooked when it comes to receiving help, and are now in desperate need of assistance.

Therefore, the Foundation of Goodness has initiated the Goodness Boxes project at our Colombo Head Office!

The Launch

The inaugural Goodness Boxes donation date was the 3rd of June, with tokens handed out to Street Cleaners in the area. They were delighted to collect a Goodness Box, full of donations from our Staff members and well-wishers donated during the week.

How does the Project take place?

1) Donations* of groceries/toiletries/ stationery/ clothes/ toys in good condition are accepted during office hours from Monday to Thursday. *Cash donations are also accepted

2) These donations are sorted into approximately equal value, to be placed into each of the 48 boxes available.

3) Tokens are handed out by our team to 48 people in need.

4) On Friday between 4pm and 5pm, the Goodness Boxes are handed out to the token recipients. They visit the Colombo Head Office and are allowed to collect one Goodness Box, randomly assigned to them.

The Foundation of Goodness is continually working to improve this system, so as to reach out to those most in need.
