The Foundation of Goodness welcomes sports teams from all over the world to Seenigama, where they test their skills against our team made up of rural players from the region. One such team was the Veterans Victoria Cricket Team from Australia, that battled the Foundation of Goodness Veterans at the Sri Sumangala MCC Lords Grounds in Hikkaduwa.

After an exhilarating day of great cricket and sportsmanship from both sides, the match scores were as follows:

VVC 165 for 09 wickets in 35 overs
FOGV 168 for 05 wickets in 21 overs
(Result : FOGV Won by 05 wickets )

We were also very grateful for their kind donations of stationery, cricket equipment and Rs.100,000 towards empowering rural disadvantaged communities. The stationery and cricket equipment was distributed to the rural students studying free of charge at the OYOB Centre of Excellence in Seenigama.

Their kind donation of funds went towards a sports scholarship for Dhanuka, who represented Sri Lanka at the World Athletics U20 Championships 2022. He made us proud by qualifying for the semi-finals of the 400m hurdles event by breaking his personal best time and a national record.

We await eagerly for them to return once again!
