The Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) sector of the Foundation of Goodness was inaugurated with intensions of providing skilled employment opportunities for capable individuals from rural settings, including students who complete the free of cost IT training program facilitated by the Foundation of Goodness.
Founded in 2010, the Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) initiative of the Foundation of Goodness has been able to provide employment opportunities for village youth through local and international partner organizations.
Infomate (Pvt) Ltd. - Subsidiary of John Keells Holdings – Sri Lanka
Having commenced operations in September 2010, with just two students who were trained as agents, Infomate (Pvt) Ltd. has been a strong factor behind the success of FoG’s BPO initiative. Since 2010, more agents have been trained and absorbed into the company. Visit Seenigama BPO Technologies (Pvt) Ltd for more information on our BPO operations.
Since January 2011, trained agents have worked on back office operations of Art Banc Inc., a financial services organization that focuses on international fine art market. The rate of accuracy and precision proved by our agents in carrying out their duties has earned more employment opportunities for village youth.
Current Project Scope:
Data Entry
Data Quality Assurance
Financial and Information Processing
3-in-1 Success Model
Rural Community Empowerment Aspect
Our proposed BPO model provides employment opportunities by a way of promoting autonomy, empowerment and financial sustainability for disadvantaged individuals and families. It also reduces urban migration; a growing concern in Sri Lanka.
Service Organizations Aspect
Partnering with the Foundation of Goodness for BPO projects allow service organizations to reduce overall costs up to 50% whilst, allowing community development opportunities through rural empowerment. It will also ensure that service organizations are recognized as equal opportunity providers and that their operational risks are mitigated via an outpost operational service station.
Foundation of Goodness Aspect
The Foundation of Goodness is a 100% donor dependant, non-profit organization that benefits over 25,000 individuals coming from over 45 villages through 30 empowerment sectors, annually. Proceeds of BPO projects will ensure self-sustainability, improvement and continuation of the many humanitarian endeavors executed by the Foundation of Goodness.
Future Plans
With more than 800 students completing the MCC Centre of Excellence, IT training program every year, the potential for expanding the BPO initiative through training and empowerment is limitless. It is envisaged that by the end of 2011, the BPO initiative will provide 50 seats for rural villagers with the potential of expansion up to 200 seats.
Foundation of Goodness is also counting on the success of its BPO initiative to support and empower individuals affected by the civil war in Sri Lanka through the North Development Project with the vision to replicate the success of the post-tsunami South, in the post-conflict North of Sri Lanka.
