Novices Swimming Champs

The Foundation of Goodness Sports Academy Swimmers performed exceptionally well at the 2015 All Island Novices Swimming Championship held at the Sugathadasa Stadium Swimming Pool Complex, Colombo on the 15th of March.

5 members of the FoG Senior Swimming squad participated in the Under 20 events and their incredible performance included the FoG snatching up the 1st and 2nd places for the U20 50m Backstroke event, and the 2nd, 3rd and 4th places for the U20 50m Freestyle event.

R.M. Sachin who competed in the U20 events placed 1st in the 50m Butterfly Stroke, and 2nd in the 50m Freestyle and 50m Breaststroke and took home the U20 All Island Boys’ Championship Trophy.

The full results are as follows:

In light of these successes which come in addition to the high performance by our netball and cricket squad members who have represented Sri Lanka as part of National Squads, the Foundation has doubled its efforts at recognizing and targeting children and youth with exceptional talent to give them the best chance at becoming professionals in their chosen sport. As such, we have introduced the concept of ‘Elite Squads’. Sportsmen who show exceptional talent will receive targeted and specialized training as part of the elite squads in an attempt to produce even more National and International level sportsmen and women from the FoG academy.

We at the Foundation of Goodness congratulate these young sportsmen for their exceptional performance at the Novices Swimming Championship!
