Essential School Supplies Project 2023
September 7, 2022

In the midst of electricity outages, crippling fuel shortages and social unrest, thousands of rural families in Sri Lanka have been struggling to eat. Many have lost their daily wages or are unable to carry them out.

The Foundation of Goodness has been delivering grocery packs since 2020, beginning with the provision of essential groceries to those adversely affected by COVID-19. The current economic crisis however has far deeper and far reaching consequences, pushing thousands of rural Sri Lankans into poverty.

Phase 5 saw the distribution of a new grocery pack, with only the essential items; rice dhal and flour, in order to reach more people in desperate need of assistance.

We are proud to announce that this phase, in the short span of 2 months, helped over 41,000 rural Sri Lankans gain access to meals. This included pregnant mothers, special needs individuals, care homes and school children.

Project Summary

We are extremely grateful to our donors for their kind contribution which has eased the burden on so many families who had been compromising on their meals due to the exorbitant increases in prices.

Phase 6 begins 1st September
