The Foundation of Goodness is a holistic rural development model that seeks to bridge the urban-rural divide in Sri Lanka via 10 empowerment divisions across 900+ villages island-wide, and reached over 307,000+ beneficiaries in 2022 alone by way of 15 Empowerment Centres, free of cost.
World Humanitarian Day highlights the need to grow global appreciation for humanitarian work, so that they can serve those most in need. With the growing number of people around the world and in Sri Lanka in need of support, our work has become more important than ever before.
In today’s interconnected world, a simple like or share can change a life, by spreading the message of need and relief. Sending virtual hugs and appreciation to our FoG family around the world, for ensuring that thousands of rural Sri Lankans have been empowered over the past 23 years.
Founder Kushil Gunasekera had this to say in lieu of the special day:
Our Village Heartbeat Empowerment Centres also marked the day with acts of kindness, discussions, drawings and more! Our beneficiaries were also educated on the work of NGO’s and their importance.
During this crisis period, the Foundation of Goodness has stepped up our crisis relief initiatives, providing essential food and medicine to vulnerable, rural communities across the island.
