The ‘Timeless Moment’ art exhibition by Mr. Santosh Kumar recently took place at the Lionel Wendt Art Gallery. The current Country Manager for Mastercard Sri Lanka and Maldives, Santosh first began pursuing painting as a hobby and has since held 13 solo exhibitions, working with oils, watercolours and acrylic with inspiration from nature which he attributes to his childhood spent in Kerala, India.
A recipient of a silver medal from the President of India, some of his works are displayed at the Rashtrapati Bhavan (official residence and office of the President of India). Incidentally, one of Santosh’s paintings was recently selected and presented to the Prime Minister of India during his visit to Sri Lanka in June.
The ‘Timeless Moments’ exhibition features 40 of his best pieces. Speaking to the press Santosh said, the main purpose behind the diversity in the subject matter was so that anyone can come and enjoy it: “There’s something for everyone; it’s diverse enough that you will find something you like.”
Having lived in Sri Lanka for over three years, Santhosh has always dreamt of holding an exhibition in the Island, saying it was a ‘dream come true’ and adding that the reception from the local audience has been very positive.
We at the Foundation of Goodness are truly moved that Santosh has selected the Foundation of Goodness as his charity of choice to donate the proceeds of this exhibition, supporting the lives of many rural under-served villagers through his efforts.
