World Kindness Day 2022 was marked by our VHE Centres island-wide
The Foundation of Goodness has pioneered in inculcating good values among communities, especially in terms of the Children’s Good Values Initiative, because we strongly believe that empowerment is achieved not just through supporting the material well being of a community, but by also creating a positive outlook.
On World Kindness Day, which is observed on the 13th of November, all our Village Empowerment Centres across the country carried out small acts of kindness in an effort to spread the spirit of good values.
These special activities carried out by the students at our VHE Centres island-wide, included Stray Friendly Animal Welfare projects, initiatives to help the elderly, distribution of dry rations to disadvantaged families, as well as feeding the homeless.

Many of our World Kindness Day activities focused on children, where they were encouraged to help others whenever possible, practice the value of kindness, and share their opinions about kindness. The children at some of our VHE Centres came up with their own creative arts and crafts that focused on creating awareness on the importance of kindness.

Perhaps the highlight of the World Kindness Day was the activity carried out by the students of the Puthiyanagar VHE Centre, where they built little houses by using cardboard boxes and hung them for the Sparrows in the area to nest in.

We, at the Foundation of Goodness, have learned over years of humanitarian activities that sometimes, a little kindness can go a very long way.
“Kindness has the power to heal, is never out of fashion and nothing else multiplies so much as kindness.”
