The Foundation of Goodness is a holistic rural development model that seeks to bridge the urban-rural divide in Sri Lanka via 10 empowerment divisions across 900+ villages island-wide, and reached over 307,000+ beneficiaries in 2022 alone by way of 15 Empowerment Centres, free of cost.

What to expect?
Upon arrival at the Foundation of Goodness premises in Seenigama, you will be given a brief introduction. We would love to take you on a short tour of our empowerment sectors and the story behind it as Sri Lanka’s one of a kind holistic rural model to empower disadvantaged communities! You will then head towards the Plates of Goodness kitchen, located at the Foundation of Goodness main premises.
You then have the option to get assistance in preparing delicious dishes from scratch, if you would like to do so, or you can sit back and enjoy the lessons provided by the Two Sisters of the Foundation of Goodness. At the end of the session, you can enjoy prepared the lunch that you helped prepare, in a relaxed outdoor setting. A recipe leaflet will also be provided, to try it out back home with your loved ones!
Meet your Chefs!
They are widely known as the “Two Sisters” of the Foundation of Goodness and will be your Chefs for the duration of the cook.
Rangi the older sister who is also the coordinator at the Women’s Empowerment sector has been with the Foundation of Goodness over a decade. Chami the younger sibling works as a Pre-school teacher at our Pre-school, also counts over 10 years with the organization. Both Rangi & Chami share a great passion for cooking and together, they present to you this one of a kind cooking experience; preparing healthy and nutritious Sri Lankan vegetarian and non-veg meals.
