The Foundation of Goodness is a holistic rural development model that seeks to bridge the urban-rural divide in Sri Lanka via 10 empowerment divisions across 900+ villages island-wide, and reached over 307,000+ beneficiaries in 2022 alone by way of 15 Empowerment Centres, free of cost.
The Graduation Ceremonies of the IT, Business Skills, Language & Dive Centres as well as the Women’s Empowerment Centre at the OYOB Centre of Excellence in Seenigama were held last week, and we are delighted to share that more than 500 students received their certificates after successfully completing their respective programmes.
Needless to say, the day was filled with much excitement and accomplishment!
The 34th Graduation Ceremony of the IT, Business Skills, Language & Dive Centres, saw 379 students receiving their certificates after mastering their skills. The Chief Guests, Mr. Upul Kumara and Mr. Chiran Ramawickrama, congratulated the graduates on their hard work and dedication.
Meanwhile, 142 students who successfully completed their programmes at the Women’s Empowerment Centre received certificates at its 30th Graduation Ceremony. The ceremony included a fashion show, where students from the Beauty Culture Class showcased a multitude of talents, including bridal dressing. The graduation of the Women’s Empowerment Centre was attended by Chief Guests, Mr. Upul Kumara and Mr. Rohana Mendis.
Both ceremonies were a testament to the hard work and dedication of the graduates, as well as the commitment of the teachers and staff at the OYOB Centre of Excellence towards providing a high-quality education and training in terms of vocational training. The graduates’ beaming faces were a reminder of the value of education and the rewards it can bring.
As these graduates move on to the next chapter of their lives, we wish them all the best in their future endeavors and know that they will be successful in whatever job function they choose to do!
