The Foundation of Goodness is a holistic rural development model that seeks to bridge the urban-rural divide in Sri Lanka via 10 empowerment divisions across 850+ villages island-wide, and reached over 135,000+ beneficiaries in 2023 alone by way of 20 Empowerment Centres, free of cost.

Sri Lanka is currently battling a crippling economic crisis which has caused food prices to soar to unaffordable levels to thousands of people. Many in rural Sri Lanka have had to compromise on meals as they are unable to afford the same amount of food. The Foundation of Goodness has therefore begun a Food Security Project via our Centres located island- wide.
50 families in the rural locality of 8 Village Heartbeat Empowerment Centres (shown below) were provided with seeds and tree saplings to begin home gardens. These seeds will provide a harvest of up to 100Kg of vegetables in just 4 months, providing essential food items to these rural communities.
