The Sujatha Home in Kalutara is a refuge for 85 residents, in desperate circumstances from the rural South of Sri Lanka. Ranging from the ages of 4-92, these residents, many of whom are elderly, have special needs or are differently abled. Many have undergone traumatic experiences while some residents have even been picked up from the side of the road, where they had been left abandoned.
As many opportunities in the modern world, FoG learnt of the Sujatha Home via a kindhearted individual reaching out to us on social media, and pledged to support the unmet and urgent requirements of this most deserving home. During the past two months, the FoG family has risen to the occasion to help this home which is in desperate need of support for their differently abled and special needs residents.
So far, FoG has facilitated the provision of 2 months worth of medicine, a flexible bed, a water filter, a microwave, 6 wheelchairs, an artificial limb for a caregiver, used clothes, a 2 burner gas cookers, a 10kg capacity rice cooker and funds worth Rs. 254,500 for other essential items.
The Sujatha Home is in need of monthly support in the form of meals, medicine and other utilities. FoG strives to keep this momentum of immense generosity in order to uplift this Home!
