The Foundation of Goodness is a holistic rural development model that seeks to bridge the urban-rural divide in Sri Lanka via 10 empowerment divisions across 900+ villages island-wide, and reached over 307,000+ beneficiaries in 2022 alone by way of 15 Empowerment Centres, free of cost.
In a world that is constantly evolving, the need to instill positive values in our children has never been more crucial. The Foundation of Goodness, through its Children’s Good Values Initiative, is paving the way for a brighter and more compassionate future. This innovative curriculum is designed to teach children essential life values, fostering qualities that will not only shape their character but contribute to building a better society for generations to come.
Every month, The Children’s Good Values Initiative revolves around a selected topic, instilling a range of virtues in children that go beyond academic achievement. The curriculum focuses on fundamental values such as kindness, compassion, empathy, forgiveness, non-harm, patience, humility, gratitude, generosity, and goodness. These core principles are carefully woven into various activities, discussions, and real-life scenarios, allowing children to grasp the importance of these virtues in their daily lives.
At the Foundation of Goodness, we firmly believe that by instilling these values in children from an early age, we are sowing the seeds for a more compassionate and harmonious society. As these children grow into responsible adults, they will carry with them the values of kindness, compassion, and empathy, becoming the pillars of a better world.
