The Foundation of Goodness is a holistic rural development model that seeks to bridge the urban-rural divide in Sri Lanka via 10 empowerment divisions across 900+ villages island-wide, and reached over 307,000+ beneficiaries in 2022 alone by way of 15 Empowerment Centres, free of cost.
In a heartening ceremony on January 12, 2024, the 36th Graduation Ceremony for IT, Business Skills, and Diving unfolded, with 273 graduates completing the rigorous 6-month course. Chief Guest Mr. Imal Kaluthotage, Mrs. Anne Kaluthotage, and Guest of Honour Mr. Sachinda Dulanjana graced the event, along with Mr. Vinod Nanayakkara, who shared his Photography success story. Their collective wisdom and encouragement now echo through the journey of these graduates.
On the following day of the 13th January, the Women’s Empowerment Centre at the OYOB Centre of Excellence in Seenigama proudly marked its 31st Graduation Day. A total of 268 graduates successfully completed their programs, stepping into a brighter future. Our curriculum encompasses a diverse array of skills, including Bag Making, Curtain Making, Dress Making, Pattern Making, General Cookery, Food Processing, Beauty Culture, Cake Pastry and Bakery, Beeralu Lace, and Advance Sugar Flowers and Cake Toppers. Students can explore the intricacies of craftsmanship, culinary arts, and creative expressions through our specialised courses.
The graduation was honoured by Shenelle Rodrigo and Shehaan Thahir, as Chief Guests, and Ms. Ramya Priyadarshani as the Guest of Honour, a former beneficiary of the bag making course who no runs her own business. These two inspiring women both shared their individual stories and shared inspiring words with new graduates.
