This Valentine’s Day was made extra special by a project initiated by Marlon Dale Ferreira.

His heart-breaking story of a visit to the abattoir in Dematagoda touched the heart of our Founder, Kushil Gunsekera and several other donors, who contributed towards saving 5 calves from slaughter.

During the visit to the slaughter house on Valentine’s Day, while the 5 cattle were being released, 6 more were lined up to be killed. Unable to bear the pain in their eyes, our Founder quickly contacted a few close friends, who graciously accepted his plea to save 6 more cows!

The kindness and compassion of a small group of people saved the lives of 12 helpless animals, securing their freedom for life. The cattle were then transported to Seenigama, where they will spend the rest of their days.
