November 16, 2023The last few years have taken a toll on many Sri Lankans. Having barely recovered from the COVID 19 Pandemic followed by the Economic Crisis, every day is struggle to many. Especially in the backdrop of escalating living expenses, numerous parents residing in the rural villages of Sri Lanka find themselves grappling with the financial strain of providing the most basic school supplies for their children. This economic hurdle translates into a substantial number of children being denied the opportunity to pursue an education, hindering their potential for a brighter future.
For the past 24 years, The Essential School Supplies Programme has been a dedicated initiative which has tirelessly addressed this pressing issue by distributing over 78,420 comprehensive school supply packs to the children in these rural areas over the years. The impact of this endeavor has been profound, not only in equipping these young minds with the tools they need for learning but also in fostering a sense of hope and empowerment within these communities.
The transformative power of education is vividly exemplified through the heartfelt testimonials of beneficiaries who have directly experienced the positive effects of our program.
